We are Bognor Regis WI! We are a self-run and self-funded community group for women. Formed in October 2009, we have steadily grown in size – and we are now a well-established WI with a friendly, active membership. In Bognor Regis WI, we aim to live up to the national WI logo “Inspiring Women” by keeping ourselves informed of current issues, making new friends, helping in the local community, learning new things and campaigning for things that matter – all in good spirit whilst enjoying ourselves.

Our monthly meetings vary from invited speakers/demonstrators on a range of topics, to ‘social evenings’ – see Diary Dates for our current programme.

Additionally we have a wide range of interest groups, who meet outside of our monthly meetings, including crafts, eating out, reading, science-fiction and walking. We also arrange regular outings to places of interest.

We are part of the West Sussex Federation (WSFWI) who support us, and offer opportunities to meet members from other WIs through various activities and events.

And of course we are proud to be part of a national women’s organisation and, in a small way, play our part in shaping policy and choosing the WI resolutions. Current campaigns of the WI include:

2018 Mental Health Matters

2017 End plastic soup, and support the lonely

2016 Carers Welcome

2014 Increasing Organ Donation

2013 Decline of our High Streets and Town Centres

2012 Employment of more Midwives

We meet on the third Tuesday evening of each month at 7.30pm at The Gordon Centre, Canada Grove, Bognor Regis, PO21 1DW (click on post code to see a map).  As a group we are warm, welcoming, funny and non-judgmental, so come and see if you like what you find. Visitors are always welcome and may visit for two meetings before deciding if they wish to join us.

Please Note:

Interest in joining our WI has increased during the pandemic and we now have a waiting list to visit and join our WI. If you are interested, please let us know by clicking here

Are you aware that The WI is extremely popular in the Bognor Regis area? There are many evening and afternoon WIs in and around Bognor Regis; for more information on these, please contact West Sussex Federation.

  3. Here I am in NZ copying your Plum & Chilli Chutney Recipe. My late Aunty In Law lived in Bognor Regis so I chose your recipe over all the others because of Aunty Berth.
