Sylvia welcomed members to her home for a fundraising afternoon tea. The afternoon was to raise money for a piece of equipment for the colorectal department at St Richard’s Hospital. The equipment will help reduce the recovery time from surgery for bowel cancer, and reduce the need for a permanent stoma.
Members enjoyed a welcome drink in the sunshine in Sylvia’s garden. A “classic” afternoon tea was then enjoyed around the pool area. Members enjoyed sandwiches, scones cream and jam, and a variety of cake. All washed down with tea or a beverage of their choice.
In true WI tradition there was also a raffle.
In total £220 was raised for the worthy cause. Those members who came should be proud of their generosity.
