12 oz self raising flour
6 oz caster or brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
8 oz margarine
handful of currants or raisins
1 or 2 apples, peeled, cored and chopped.
- Heat oven to 180C/ Gas mark 4.
- Grease and line a deep cake tin.
- Rub flour and margarine together (as for a crumble)
- Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well together.
- Bake for one and a half hours.
- Nice warm with custard.
