Apple Cake

Ingredients:

12 oz self raising flour

6 oz caster or brown sugar

3 eggs, beaten

8 oz margarine

cinnamon

handful of currants or raisins

1 or 2 apples, peeled, cored and chopped.

pinch salt

 Method:

  • Heat oven to 180C/ Gas mark 4.
  • Grease and line a deep cake tin.
  • Rub flour and margarine together (as for a crumble)
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well together.
  • Bake for one and a half hours.
  • Nice warm with custard.
